Pastor John Mix is a compassionate and dedicated leader known for his inspiring sermons and unwavering commitment to his community. With over two decades of pastoral experience, he has pastored two churches where he has fostered a welcoming and inclusive environment for worshippers of all backgrounds. Pastor Mix holds a Master's degree in Biblical Counseling and a Letter of Laurette from Great Plains Baptist College. He has a profound understanding of biblical teachings, which he adeptly applies to contemporary challenges. Beyond the pulpit, Pastor Mix cherishes time spent with his wife, adult children, and grandchildren. He also enjoys hobbies like music and working in his garage. His empathetic nature and genuine passion for helping others continue to inspire and uplift those around him.
GracePointe is an Independent Baptist church that holds to the authority and sufficiency of Scripture. We believe the Bible is the inspired, preserved Word of God and use the King James Version for all preaching and teaching. Salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone, and the mission of the church is to evangelize, disciple, and edify believers.
GracePointe Baptist Church began with a small group of believers gathering to pray, study the Bible, and seek God’s direction for a new church plant in Northern Virginia. As God opened doors and brought families together, GracePointe was established with a vision to preach Christ, build community, and be a lighthouse in this growing region.
While we currently meet in flexible locations, God is leading us toward a future worship space where we can expand ministry, strengthen outreach, and continue growing together.
