On Sunday, December 21, 2025, members of GracePointe Church in Northern Virginia will join with the congregation of GracePointe Louisville for a special commissioning service marking an important milestone in the life of the ministry.
The service will be held simultaneously in both locations, bringing together the two congregations through a shared time of worship, prayer, and affirmation. Though separated by distance, the joint service reflects the ongoing spiritual partnership between GracePointe NOVA and its parent and sending church in Louisville.
A commissioning service is a formal moment in the life of the church in which individuals or congregations are prayerfully affirmed and sent out for ministry. It represents the church’s collective recognition of God’s calling, along with a commitment to ongoing support, accountability, and partnership. This service will formally affirm GracePointe NOVA as it continues its mission to serve the Northern Virginia community while remaining rooted in the support and guidance of GracePointe Louisville.
The service in Louisville will be led by Pastor Mark Bishop of GracePointe Louisville. During the service, Pastor John Mix and his wife, Sara, will appear before the Louisville congregation as part of the commissioning moment, reflecting the shared connection between the two churches.
The joint service highlights the church’s commitment to collaboration, discipleship, and mission, demonstrating how congregations remain connected and unified despite geographic distance.
Members and guests are encouraged to attend and participate in this meaningful service as the church looks ahead with gratitude for God’s faithfulness and anticipation for the future.
